Who runs this site

This website is run by Perumalmurugan’s office. For anything about your personal data, write to contact@perumalmurugan.com.

What we collect, and why

Only what you send us through the contact form: your name, your email address, what your message is about, and the message. We use them to read your message and reply to you, and for nothing else. We do not sell or share them, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

To stop the form being used to send spam, it is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, and no more than five messages an hour are accepted from one internet address. For that limit we keep a scrambled form of your address (a salted hash, from which the address cannot be read back) for one day.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Messages are stored in the site’s database with Supabase, and are also sent by email to the office. Both are kept for two years from the day you write, and then deleted.

Who can see it

Only the people at the office who answer messages.

Cookies, counting visits and videos

The site sets no cookies for visitors. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you. Videos on the interviews page load from YouTube or Vimeo only when you press play; until then nothing is sent to them. Book shops and other sites we link to have their own privacy rules.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, by writing to contact@perumalmurugan.com. We will answer within a month.
